Conducting an Investigation as a Governor Workshop

Learn the basics of conducting a fair, thorough and effective investigation

This focused 2‑hour online workshop provides governors with a clear and practical introduction to the essentials of fair and effective investigation. Governors may be asked to look into a wide range of matters within a school, from complaints and conduct concerns to procedural issues, and it is vital that they feel confident and well‑equipped when taking on this responsibility.

The session guides governors through the core principles of good investigative practice, helping them understand what a fair process looks like, how to approach conversations and evidence objectively, and how to maintain consistency and integrity throughout.

By the end of the workshop, governors will have a solid foundation to support them in carrying out investigations with clarity, assurance, and professionalism.
